WORKS IN PROGRESS
BY GERALD O'CONNELL

This section of the the gallery space is devoted to
long term projects.

TOKYO STORY
RUSHES AND OUT-TAKES
Tokyo Story is an ambitious attempt to exploit the WebArt medium.
The first version was exhibited in New York in September 1998 as
part of the R2001 'Country Without Borders' group exhibition.
Since then it has grown in length and complexity. As my own psychological
map of the city, I cannot predict when it might ever be considered complete...
The full work uses meta/refresh tags in order to run continuously. Here I merely
present occasional frames and fragments as the work progresses...
Tokyo Story is calibrated for IE4, 800x600, Fullscreen setting.

A new window will be opened for each of the above pieces.
This should be maximised and then set to Full Screen.

'FLUX AETERNA'
was started in 1990 and continues to grow, like a crystal,
according to its own laws and under its own momentum.
I devised a unique acrylic ink technique in order to realise this work,
and now I often feel that the work is realising me: as though I were a mere
spectator at the site of my own endeavours.
Flux Aeterna is unfinished, and, by its nature, will become more
unfinished the more I add to it......
